چکیده

Since the advent of reforms and opening-up China, focus has been on urban development. However, rural development garnered attention in recent years. This research explores energy performance improvement methods for houses Xi’an, China. It aims to discuss feasibility designing a nearly zero-energy building (nZEB), based typical residential housing through proposing new construction examining strategies refurbishment an existing house. Initially, house was modelled data collected from field survey historical documents. Subsequently, suitable passive design were explored both terms After implementation design, annual demand reduced 112 kWh/m2 68 (new construction) 85 (refurbished). Even though significantly house, it could not achieve Chinese nZEB standard. Therefore, photovoltaic (PV) system storage battery incorporated meet Eighty per cent south roof area newly constructed refurbished installed with PV capacity 50 kWh 52 kWh, respectively. installation proposed renewable energy, decreased 35 51 (refurbished), which achieved standard (equal or below 55 kWh/m2). The study shows effectiveness used can be instruct residents build villages like Xi’an

Parametric Study of the Impact of Windows to Wall Ratio on Reduction of Energy Consumption and Environmental Impact of a Zero-Energy Building in Different Orientations

Nowadays, the increase of fossil fuel consumption intensifies the crucial role of architects. As buildings consume over one-third of the used energy, the society of architects is held responsible for this consumption. Therefore, the amount of energy used by a building is directly related to its design; meaning that reduction of energy consumption should be targeted at the design stage. In this ...

Toward the design of zero energy buildings (ZEB) in Iran: Climatic study

In this research, a combination of passive and active methods is used to design a nearly zero energy building in four major climatic regions of Iran, including cold, mild, dry-warm, and wet-warm ones. The annual energy consumption analysis is performed using DesignBuilder® software. The passive strategies include Trombe Wall, blue roof, and thermochromic windows, and the active methods are usin...
